'Business by Projects' is the ground reality.
It is a major challenge to the corporate world to create a common language across the organization
cutting across the functional boundaries. Understanding of the salient concepts of project management holds the key to provide a common vocabulary
in an enterprise.
Certificate In Project Management (CIPM) is well structured
based on well thought of 8 Generic Project Life Cycle Phases. The syllabus of CIPM covers both the hard and soft dimensions of managing a project.
There are over 113 concepts covering 37 knowledge areas across 8 project life cycle phases.
CIPM Exam is based on the syllabus covering 113 concepts. The CIPM Exam contains 150 single choice questions.
Examination Paper contains 4 Sections.
Examination Paper contains 4 Sections – sections 1, 2, 3 and 4. Section 1 and Section2 contains three Types of
questions - Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3. In Type 1 questions, you are required to make 1 selection out of 4 choices. Each right answer carries 1 Mark. In Type
2 questions, you are required to make 1 selection out of 5 choices. Each right answer carries 2 Marks. In Type 3 questions, you need to compute and then make
1 selection out of the 4 choices. Each right answer carries 5 Marks. Section 3 and Section 4 contains only Type 1 and Type 2 questions. Please note that you
can select only one option in all the 3 types of questions. Selecting more than 1 option will be invalid and no marks will be given for that question. Please
enter your answer in the Answer Sheet provided.
It is necessary to obtain 50% marks in each of the 4 sections independently. The maximum marks for Sections 1, 2, 3
and 4 are 42, 74, 44 and 40 respectively. You need to score minimum of 21, 37, 22 and 20 respectively for there 4 Sections. To pass CIPM Exam, a candidate must
clear all the 4 Sections by scoring at least 50% in each section. It is also necessary to get overall 60% marks of the maximum marks i.e. 120 out of 200 marks.
In case, a candidate fails in any one of the 4 Sections, he/she has to reappear in the CIPM Exam all over again covering all the 4 Sections once again. There is
no reappearance in CIPM exam on individual Section basis. Negative marking for wrong answers is 25% of the marks assigned to the question.
CIPM Exam is of 2 Hour 30 Minutes.
In case of break down of Internet connectivity, you need to start again with the help of Administrator and you will
be positioned at the same place where you left at the time of connectivity problem.
Time wasted due to connectivity problem is not added to a candidate's permissible time of 2 Hour 30 Minutes.
